Abstract

Objectives: Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta is one of the hospitals that has implemented WWTP in liquid waste treatment.
Methods: This study aims to analyze the wastewater treatment system at Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta. Through a descriptive approach, this study examines the process of managing liquid waste from various sources in the hospital, including laboratories, treatment rooms, and kitchens.
Results: The results showed that the hospital has implemented a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) that effectively treats medical and non-medical wastewater.
Conclusions: The treatment process involving several stages, such as sedimentation, aeration, and filtration, successfully produces effluent that meets quality standards. In addition, regular monitoring of treated water quality and using fish ponds as biomonitoring show the hospital's commitment to maintaining environmental quality. This study concludes that the WWTP at Panti Rapih Yogyakarta Hospital contributes significantly to reducing the negative impact of wastewater on the environment.
