Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to analyze the implementation of environmental health programs at the Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi D.I. Yogyakarta. Given the high prevalence of diseases related to environmental factors, these programs are assessed for their effectiveness in improving public health.
Methods: The study was conducted on October 22, 2024, at the Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi D.I. Yogyakarta through a presentation-based approach. The method included material presentations by the health office, followed by a question-and-answer session, and concluded with a summary of key findings.
Results: The environmental health program at the Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi D.I. Yogyakarta consists of five main initiatives: Stop Open Defecation, STBM Pillars, Drinking Water Quality Monitoring, Food Management Places (TPP), Public Places and Facilities (TFU), and Healthy Regency/City Implementation. The findings indicate that most programs are running smoothly, with several exceeding their target goals. However, challenges remain, particularly in the continuous monitoring and evaluation of programs, such as ensuring STBM Villages maintain their status and assisting non-STBM Villages in achieving compliance.
Conclusions: The environmental health programs at the Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi D.I. Yogyakarta have been largely successful, with several exceeding target outcomes. However, continuous monitoring, evaluation, and guidance are essential to sustain and expand the impact, particularly in maintaining STBM Village status and supporting non-STBM Villages in their transition. Strengthening these efforts will further enhance public health improvements in the region.
