Abstract
Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected various sectors, including health, economy, education, and society, leading to an increase in early marriages, particularly in Indonesia. This article aims to compare the incidence of early marriage before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A descriptive comparative study was conducted using secondary data sourced from various online platforms.
Results: The findings show that the number of early marriages has increased after the pandemic, with female adolescents being more affected than males.
Conclusions: The rise in early marriages can be attributed to economic, parental, and cultural factors, changes in education, and unintended pregnancies. To address this issue, it is crucial to enhance awareness among adolescents and parents and to implement supportive government policies.
